Dr. Kimberli Cox specializes in treating benign and malignant breast disease. She has a special interest in breast conservation and minimally invasive techniques. With this emphasis, she helps each patient choose the best surgical and oncologic results while preserving as much normal breast tissue as possible.
Dr. C ox joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2015 when Comprehensive Breast Center of Arizona entered into a partnership with them. After completing undergraduate and graduate degrees at California State University, Dr. Cox graduated from Flinders University of South Australia. She completed her general surgery training at Pennsylvania State University Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey/UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
Dr. Cox enjoys hiking in the Arizona foothills and Bikram yoga. She travels and, in particular, enjoys the beautiful culture and history of the Asian countries.

Dr. Sommer R. Gunia is one of the few sub-specialty Fellowship Trained Breast Surgical Oncologists in Scottsdale and is committed to the evaluation and treatment of breast disease. She is dedicated to brining the highest level of breast care to the valley by incorporating her expertise in the newest technologies and advancements available for both the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Her training included oncoplastic surgical technique, which combines the principles of cancer removal with optimal cosmetic results.
Dr. Gunia joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2015 when Comprehensive Breast Center of Arizona entered into a partnership with them. Dr. Gunia earned her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University. She obtained her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her general surgery training through Ohio University and further specialized in Breast Surgical Oncology at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio.
Dr. Gunia enjoys playing cards, country line dancing, relaxing by the pool with a good book, traveling, attending concerts and spending time with her husband, Steve, and their two tabby cats.

Dr. Liu integrates cutting-edge technology with attention to cosmesis for the best oncologic and aesthetic outcomes possible. She performs nipple sparing mastectomies and is a strong advocate for direct-to-implant reconstruction, when feasible, which avoids use of painful expanders.
Working closely with her plastic surgery colleagues during lumpectomies, she uses Oncoplastic technique to reshape the breast. This innovative approach allows larger tumors to be removed without mastectomy, while often enhancing a patient’s cosmetic appearance.
Dr. Liu has been voted by her peers as a “Top Doc” in PHOENIX magazine. She is board-certified and completed general surgery training at the University of Michigan. She graduated with honors from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and Princeton University.

A specialist in treating breast diseases, Dr. Moorthy practices oncoplastic breast surgery, which combines sound oncology principles with plastic surgery techniques. The goal is to obtain wider surgical margins for complete removal of the breast tumor and minimize the risk of recurrence, while still providing the best possible cosmetic results. She performs nipple sparing mastectomy, and participates in a national registry.
She was voted by her peers as a “Top Doc” in 2013. One of her passions is to promote international awareness of breast cancer, specifically in countries such as India.
Dr. Moorthy is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her general surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix and a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California.

After years of surgically treating breast cancer, Dr. Nakamura is eager to focus her expertise on counseling patients on its prevention. She is the Director of the Cancer Prevention Clinic at the Comprehensive Breast Center of Arizona which educates and follows patients with a higher risk of developing breast cancer. Her goal is to empower patients with increased awareness and a strategy for early detection or risk reduction. Being a fellowship trained breast surgeon, she is uniquely qualified to discuss preventative surgeries. Dr. Nakamura completed her Breast Surgery Oncology fellowship at the University of California with the nationally renowned breast surgeon, Dr. Melvin Silverstein, and has contributed a chapter in his book. She graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed General Surgery residency at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. In her spare time, she is an avid softball mom and enjoys spending time with her family.

Dr. Selyne Samuel obtained fellowship training in Breast Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center in Ohio. She received advanced training in nipple sparing mastectomies, noninvasive breast biopsies, the complexities of genetic testing, and the management of high risk patients. Having trained at the Cleveland Clinic, a renowned tertiary cancer center, she is a strong advocate of a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care and the value of integrating holistic approaches. She completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Arizona and earned her MD from Indiana University School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Biology.
Dr. Selyne Samuel believes that Breast surgery is a specialty that requires the close collaboration of multiple physicians and the patient to overcome the trial of breast cancer. She is honored as a breast surgeon to travel on this journey with her patients; to guide them with the most effective surgical options that fit their goals and achieve the best cosmesis.

Dr. Sigalove specializes in treating both benign and malignant diseases of the breast. Experienced in minimally invasive techniques, she focuses on care with compassion, and emphasizes the team approach to fighting cancer. She strives to achieve the most optimal cancer treatment with the least amount of disfigurement to the breast.
Partnering with her husband, a reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Sigalove helped advance novel surgical techniques that minimize pain, maximize recovery, and enhance the appearance of the reconstructed breast. With multiple publications, she actively lectures and continues to teach the technique of nipple sparing mastectomy with pre-pectoral reconstruction.
Dr. Sigalove held the position of Breast Program Director at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital and Health System Clinician at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She was selected by her peers as “Top Cancer Doctor” in Chicago Magazine in 2017 and was chosen as “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly in 2014 and 2017.
Dr. Sigalove is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and completed her surgical residency at Rush Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She graduated from Rush Medical College and obtained her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.
Her love of the desert, heat and sun attracted Dr. Sigalove to Arizona, where she now lives with her twin children and husband. Dr. Sigalove’s practice philosophy is based on the premise, that in medicine, you always have the ability to “do the right thing.”
Dr. Lise Walker was given the opportunity to study and practice with renowned breast surgery pioneers, Drs. Richard Fine and Philip Israel. She moved to Marietta, Georgia to spend four years acquiring their advanced techniques of diagnosing and treating breast disease. She was voted a “Top Doc” every year since 2013.
Dr. Walker joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2015 when Comprehensive Breast Center of Arizona partnered with them. Dr. Walker is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons who has practiced in Phoenix since 2001. She obtained her doctorate in medicine from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Walker’s daughter has begun her internship in Internal Medicine in Phoenix, and her son graduated from ASU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and works in Phoenix.

Dr. Victor Zannis has been a surgeon for more than 30 years and has been an 11 time “Top Doc” honoree, specializing in breast surgery. Dr. Zannis has been heavily involved in research, publishing numerous articles on breast cancer diagnoses and treatment. He serves as a national instructor in image-guided minimally invasive breast care techniques. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Zannis has served as president of the Phoenix Surgical Society, the Southwestern Surgical Congress and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.Dr. Zannis earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and went on to the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and residency at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.When Dr. Zannis is not working, he enjoys golf, hiking and spending time with his wife and two children.Dr. Zannis sees patients at the central Phoenix location.
