Ashley Albert, MDRadiation Oncology
Dr. Ashley Albert is a radiation oncologist with expertise in Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and brachytherapy. She enjoys developing relationships with her patients and their families in order to understand their individual needs and create tailored, evidence-based treatment plans. She seeks to compassionately guide her patients through all parts of their cancer treatment.
Dr. Albert joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her medical doctorate from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA where she graduated in the top of her class, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), and was elected as an Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society Member.
Dr. Albert completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center followed by residency training in radiation oncology, serving as chief resident for two years. In addition, she has held numerous national leadership positions including serving as Vice-Chair of the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) Executive Committee. She also serves on the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Scientific Committee and Communications Committee as well as the Radiation Oncology Institute (ROI) Research Committee and Development Committee. Dr. Albert is also a co-founder and current Senior Advisory Committee member in the Society for Women in Radiation Oncology. She is a member of the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) and the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO). As a resident, she received travel scholarships from both ACRO and ASTRO and was recognized by the Group on Women in Medicine and Science with the Emerging Star Award.
She has authored numerous research articles with a focus on gynecologic cancers, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, and the treatment of various cancers in the geriatric population. She has presented her research work at multiple national meetings and she also actively serves as a peer reviewer for several medical journals.
