Dr. Coral A. Quiet specializes in radiation oncology, specifically focused on breast cancer.

Dr. Quiet joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2012, merging Arizona Breast Cancer Specialists, which she co-founded in 2008 as the first-ever radiation oncology facility in the world focused solely on breast cancer treatment with radiation, with the practice. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She completed medical school at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and both her internship and fellowship at the University of Chicago before serving as resident, then chief resident, at the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at the Michael Reese/University of Chicago Center for Radiation Therapy.

Dr. Coral Quiet is credited for bringing breast brachytherapy to Arizona in 2000. She helped to pioneer the Mammosite catheter for the FDA studies and has been involved with that device’s long-term use and research. After much experience with the device, she realized that it was limited, in fact could only treat 60% of the patients we were seeing with early stage breast cancer. She has since helped pioneer the SAVI catheter which is able to treat many more women with early stage breast cancer while avoiding high dose to skin and ribs. Newer devices are being worked on that will continue to develop breast cancer treatment options.

Dr. Quiet is certified by the American Board of Radiology and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and serves as a member of the medical advisory and as spokesperson for the American Cancer Society as well as a member of the Cancer Committee at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea. She co-founded and served as volunteer medical director for the Arizona Institute for Breast Health for two decades. She is currently a member of the American Board of Radiology, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Arizona Medical Association and American Brachytherapy Society. She has been honored among the “Most Intriguing Women in Arizona’s History” by the Arizona Historical Society as well as a finalist for the Arizona Athena Award. Dr. Quiet has also been honored among the “Most Influential Women in Arizona Business by AZ Business Magazine and among the “Most Dynamic Women in Arizona,” by the Phoenix Business Journal. She is a multi-year “Top Doc” honoree by Phoenix Magazine.
