Dr. Farley E. Yang specializes in radiation oncology, and was one of the first radiation oncologists in Arizona to use Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), which is a more precise way of shaping the beams of radiation to conform to the target disease, in the treatment of head and neck cancers with great success.
Dr. Yang joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2012. He received his Bachelor of Science degree and Medical degree, respectively, from the University of Michigan, where he developed his interest in cancer biology and patient care. Dr. Yang completed his internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan and his residency at the Department of Cellular and Radiation Oncology at the University of Chicago, where he would eventually serve as chief resident and as an instructor. During his time at the University of Chicago, he obtained brachytherapy training at Memorial-Sloan-Kettering and William Beaumont Hospitals, as well as experience with stereotactic radiosurgery, high-dose brachytherapy and three-dimensional conformal therapy.
Dr. Yang is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Since arriving in Arizona, Dr. Yang has embraced the latest technologies in the treatment of some of the most difficult oncology cases. Although adopting advanced technology has played an important role in developing his practice in Arizona, Dr. Yang believes strongly that educating the patients and their families is the first step towards a successful outcome. Time and patience for those in need is an essential component in his treatment of cancer patients.
Dr. Yang is a multi-year “Top Doc” honoree by Phoenix Magazine.
