Dr. Luci M. Chen specializes in radiation oncology, and her clinical interests include brachytherapy for breast and gynecological malignancies as well as therapy for lung cancer, head and neck cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, lymphomas, and prostate cancer. She also has experience treating skin cancers, and thyroid malignancies. Dr. Chen has extensive experience with various forms of conformal treatment including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), as well as Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
Dr. Chen, an American Cancer Society Fellow, joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and both her Master of Science and Medical degrees from State University of New York. She completed her internship at Northwestern University Medical Center and her residency in the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at the University of Chicago, where she would eventually serve as assistant professor of radiation oncology. She also served as clinical director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital before moving to Arizona in 1999.
Dr. Chen’s expertise led her to also serve as a manuscript reviewer on cancer research for such publications as the International Journal of Oncology Biology and Physics, Journal of Clinical Oncology and The Cancer Journal from Scientific American.
Dr. Chen is a current or was a past member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society, American College of Radiology, Chinese Alliance for Professional Advancement and National Association for Asian American Professionals. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Chen is a multi-year “Top Doc” honoree by Phoenix Magazine.
