Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trial

One of the most deadly forms of cancer is pancreatic. Furthermore, it is the 6th leading cause of death from cancer in the United States.

The best way to treat this form of disease is with chemotherapy. In addition, radiation is followed by surgery to remove the pancreas.

We have made great strides over the last 5 years, however there are still a large number of patients who have the cancer return.

We are a team of physicians looking to reduce this recurrence. Therefore, testing involves a new therapy. In turn, a small radioactive mesh is permanently implanted where the risk of the cancer returning is most likely. Preventing further growth of cancer is the goal.

Successful surgery is already being performed by Dr. Sckolnik and Dr. Amini. In turn, results from the earliest procedures will soon be available. Even more, in the near future several other procedures are being planned.

Scottsdale is the First Site on the West Coast for Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trial

The first location on the west coast for this procedure is Arizona Center for Cancer Care. Scottsdale is leading the way. In turn, many eyes are on Scottsdale for the results of the earliest procedures. Even more, patients are receiving new hope. Furthermore, you can imagine the possibilities with more clinical studies. Scottsdale is a leader.

Understanding Pancreatic Cancer is Key to Success

Understanding pancreatic cancer is important.

Some symptoms of pancreatic cancer are common.

  • Jaundice turns the skin and the eyes yellow, a condition called jaundice. The same blockage causes dark urine, light colored stools, and itching..
  • Some people with pancreatic cancer have a sense of early fullness with meals. Therefore, they experience bloating. Even more, some experience an uncomfortable swelling in the abdomen.
  • Nausea is a sign of pancreatic cancer. in addition, vomiting is also a sign.

In general, symptoms appear earlier from cancers in the head of the pancreas. This is common. In contrast, later cancers normally appear in the body and tail. Keep in mind that having any or all of these symptoms doesn’t mean a person has pancreatic cancer. In contrast, there are many other causes for these types of symptoms.

Like any other form of cancer, doctors prefer to catch pancreatic cancer early. Success rates increase with early detection. Even more, success will increase with new innovations for treatment.

A priority at AZCCC is treating pancreatic cancer. In turn, Arizona Center for Cancer Care is proud of our physicians.
