Devinder Singh, MD

Devinder Singh, MD

In August of 1992, Dr. Devinder Singh founded the Arizona Center for Hematology/Oncology and has been servicing the greater Phoenix area since then with his other medical oncology associates. In 2008, in collaboration with Drs. Biggs, Lee, and Reed, the radiation oncology division was established, and the practice name was changed to Arizona Center for Cancer Care. Among his many accomplishments, in 2019 Dr. Singh received the “Oncology Service Award” from Phoenix Cancer Support Network and was nominated as “Best Doctor in Oncology” by Phoenix Magazine. He is a clinical assistant professor at Midwestern Medical University (Glendale campus) and is actively involved in teaching medical students. Click here to read full profile »



Christopher Biggs, MD

Christopher Biggs, MD

Dr. Biggs co-founded Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2008 with Drs. Devinder Singh, Daniel Reed and Terry Lee. He attended the University of Arizona, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular biology. His interest in cancer research took him to the University of Southern California, under the Borchard Cancer Research Fellowship. There, he performed research on the molecular genetics of cancer at the Norris Cancer Center and at LA Children’s Hospital. After completing his Doctor of Philosophy degree, he moved to Stanford University, where he earned his medical degree, and developed an interest in radiation oncology. Dr. Biggs completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, where he eventually served as Chief Resident. Shawn Blick, MD

Shawn Blick, MD

Founder of Valley Urology Associates, he joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2010 when they entered a partnership. Dr. Blick currently serves as the Chief of Staff at Paradise Valley Hospital. He has also previously served as the Medical Director and Chairman of the Board at the Surgical Elite Surgery Center, the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Paradise Valley Hospital, West Valley Hospital, and Maryvale Hospital. He has attended multiple courses on advanced techniques for penile prosthesis insertion for erectile dysfunction, pelvic floor reconstruction for pelvic prolapse and stress urinary incontinence, laser surgery and UROLIFT for BPH, cryoablation and robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomies for prostate cancer, and hand- assisted laparoscopic nephrectomies for kidney cancer. James Choi, MD

Brenda Moorthy, DO

A specialist in treating breast diseases, Dr. Moorthy practices oncoplastic breast surgery, which combines sound oncology principles with plastic surgery techniques. The goal is to obtain wider surgical margins for complete removal of the breast tumor and minimize the risk of recurrence, while still providing the best possible cosmetic results. She performs nipple sparing mastectomy and participates in a national registry. Dr. Moorthy was voted by her peers as a “Top Doc” in 2013. One of her passions is to promote international awareness of breast cancer, specifically in countries such as India. She has coauthored publications and a book chapter and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. In her spare time Dr. Moorthy enjoys travelling and playing tennis with her husband and two young sons.

Steven Sckolnik, MD

Steven Sckolnik, MD

Dr. Steven Sckolnik joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2016 and is a board-certified radiation oncologist. He has expertise in the management of breast, prostate, and gastrointestinal cancers. He has a particular interest in utilizing new and advanced treatment techniques to minimize side effects. He derives great satisfaction from developing long-lasting relationships with his patients that extend beyond their treatments. Dr. Sckolnik is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society, American College of Radiology, and the Arizona Radiological Society. Vi Hua, MD

Vi Hua, MD

Dr. Vi Hua’s team at Valley Urology Associates joined forces with Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2010 and entered a partnership agreement. Dr. Vi N. Hua specializes in urology, and his interests include laparoscopy and minimally invasive urology. During training, he acquired the distinguishing skills for performing nephron-sparing laparoscopic partial nephrectomies, laparoscopic renal cryoablation, and laparoscopic da Vinci robotic radical prostatectomies. Dr. Hua is certified by The American Board of Urology. He is also certified in the da Vinci Robotic Surgery System and Endocare Cryotherapy.

James Choi, MD

James Choi, MD

Known for his kind and caring demeanor, Dr. James Choi specializes in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. He has participated in several research studies involving the role of U5 in mRNA splicing complex, second allogeneic transplant for relapsed high-grad hematologic malignancies, radiation therapy for gastroesophageal junction and gastric carcinoma as well as transcriptome profiling of B-CLL to identify novel markers for prognosis and therapeutic targets. In addition to his research, Dr. Choi has been published in the Journal of Bone Marrow Transplant and has presented his research findings at the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting. Ivor Benjamin, MD

Ivor Benjamin, MD

AZCCC Gynecologic Oncology division head, Dr. Ivor Benjamin, joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2012. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci surgical robot and has performed more than 2,750 complex robotic gynecologic surgeries for both cancer and non-cancerous conditions.
Dr. Benjamin received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, respectively, in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Benjamin attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed both his internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He then completed a three-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Following this, he returned to Philadelphia where he served as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Benjamin is an Associate Clinical Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
