October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Therefore Create Awareness

Breast cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer in women. Furthermore, about 1 in 8 women in the United States will get breast cancer.

The good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it is found early. A mammogram can help find breast cancer early when it’s easier to treat. A mammogram is a screening test for breast cancer.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of finding breast cancer early. Make a difference! Spread the word about mammograms. Even more, and others to spread the word. Wear pink in support of those you love batting breast cancer. Wear pink to remember those you love.

We can use this opportunity to spread the word about taking steps to detect breast cancer early.

Here are just a few ideas:

• Ask doctors and nurses to speak to women about getting screened for breast cancer. Even more, ask women to speak to each other.
• Encourage women to talk with their doctors about mammograms. Furthermore, encourage women to get mammograms at least every 2 years.
